About this Orangutan
Trudeau is a little orangutan with a big personality! When Trudeau arrived at the Orangutan Foundation International’s (OFI) Orangutan Care Center and Quarantine (OCCQ) he was terribly injured suffering from head trauma with bruising and swelling. He was paralyzed on his left side and could not use his left arm or leg. Trudeau was so badly injured that OFI staff were afraid that he would not make it. This very young infant orangutan managed to overcome the odds and made a miraculous recovery! Slowly Trudeau regained feeling in his left leg and then his arm so much so that he can now climb just like his peers!
Dr. Birute Galdikas decided to name him Trudeau in honor of our Canadian Prime Minister as he arrived at the OCCQ around the time of our election. To learn more about Trudeau’s story see our OFIC Blog.
Foster Trudeau today to help him continue to recover and eventually make the return back to the forest!
